BRETT SWENSON
Coach South Florida
Former Michigan State All-American | Lou Groza Award Semifinalist | Team MVP
Brett Swenson is one of the most accomplished kickers in Michigan State University Football history. A four-year standout for the Spartans, Brett built a career defined by consistency, clutch performance, and record-setting production at the highest level of college football.
Career Highlights

- Lou Groza Award Semifinalist (2009) – Presented annually to the nation’s top placekicker
- Team MVP (2009) – First kicker in Michigan State history to receive the award

By the end of his career, Brett became Michigan State’s all-time leader in field goals (70), extra points (158), and total points scored (368). At the time of his graduation, his 368 career points ranked first among all active players in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision.
His 70 career field goals ranked:
- Fourth in Big Ten history
- Third among active FBS players at the time
- Among the top totals in conference history
Senior Season (2009)
Brett delivered one of the most dominant kicking seasons in school history:
- 18-of-20 field goals (.900), leading the Big Ten
- Ranked first in the conference in scoring (8.4 points per game)
- Tied a school record with 76 consecutive extra points
- Hit two career-long 52-yard field goals in a single game
- Named National Placekicker of the Week after a four-field-goal performance at Purdue, including a game-winning kick
He recorded multiple game-winning field goals throughout his career, proving himself repeatedly in high-pressure situations.
Consistency & Clutch Performance
Across his four seasons (2006–2009), Brett:
- Converted 67-of-89 career field goals
- Made 158-of-160 career extra points
- Set school records for consecutive field goals and extra points
- Reached the 100-point milestone in a single season
- Tied Michigan State’s single-season field goal record (22)
As a freshman, he earned First-Team Freshman All-American honors and immediately established himself as one of the top young kickers in the country. By his junior and senior seasons, he ranked among national leaders in field goals made and scoring.
Professional Career
Although no kickers were selected in the 2010 NFL Draft, Brett signed as an undrafted free agent with the Indianapolis Colts and entered camp as a highly regarded prospect. He was widely projected as one of the top placekicker prospects in the draft class.
High School
Brett attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he was ranked among the nation’s top five kicking prospects by both Rivals and Scout.

MIKE MCCABE
Founder, Coach Atlanta, Birmingham, Millbrook
Mike McCabe is the owner and founder of One On One Kicking. He operates out of the Millbrook (AL), Birmingham (AL), and Atlanta (GA) divisions. He is a top high school, college, and NFL Evaluator.
Since 2001, Coach McCabe has trained hundreds of punters, kickers, and specialists under his One On One Kicking brand. He has helped his students and clients earn scholarships to prestigious universities throughout the country on every level. He is also one of the top college and NFL evaluators for specialists. In 2012, both the Ray Guy and Lou Groza Award Winners for Top Punter and Kicker in the country, Ryan Allen and Cairo Santos, were trained by One On One Kicking – the first time EVER that a training facility trained both in the same year Coach Mike McCabe has trained, instructed, taught, and assisted dozens of professional kickers and punters in the NFL and CFL, hundreds of All-Americans and National Champions in the NCAA, and thousands of All-Americans and All-States in high school.
One of the best testaments is Johnny Hekker perfecting his craft from being a walk-on at Oregon State University to setting multiple NFL records and being a perennial Pro Bowler with the Los Angeles Rams. McCabe has been featured on many media outlets including ESPN, CBS, NBC, FOX Sports, Players Tribune, Rivals, Scout, and other regional carriers.
He has also been a featured speaker at the annual AFCA conference discussing his craft. Prior to an NCAA rule change in 2017, he was one of the first specialist instructors for college camps at various universities including Alabama, Ohio State, Miami (FL), Tennessee, Virginia, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Kentucky, and Louisville, among others. McCabe is a former All-American punter at Illinois State University under Urban Meyer. After a short career with the Chicago Bears and the World League of American Football, McCabe coached at the collegiate and high school levels including Miami (OH), Miami (FL), Prattville High School (AL), and Florence High School (AL).

One On One Kicking’s training sessions give each athlete an understanding of proper fundamentals and mechanics while preparing them for the mental aspects of special teams play. Our training sessions are engaging, structured, and designed to push players to achieve their potential. Our staff’s goal is to ensure that the athlete will have the best opportunity to improve as a specialist.
One On One Kicking’s staff has several years of playing experience in the National Football League (NFL) and in major college conferences. Our coaches seek to ensure each athlete has a thorough understanding of proper kicking mechanics, learn how to interpret feedback given to them based on the result of each kick, and implement corrections in a manner that will carry-over from the practice field to game day.
Refund Policy
If an athlete has to cancel attendance to a camp for any reason, registration fees may be transferred to a future camp and will be good for up to one year from the date of the original camp. If you have registered for a camp and due to COVID we have to reschedule the event, your credit transfers to that future date. Billing One on One KickingThis is a commitment to full-time training to achieve the highest level possible. We will only refund training costs due to injuries, provided a medical report from an orthopedic firm with the results of the injury is provided. No deposit made is refundable due to the insurance we pay for the player.
If a refund is due, any outstanding amount will be issued within 60 days to the original card used, unless otherwise specified.
