Team at Tinsley Performance

Cal Tinsley

Owner/operator of Tinsley Performance.

Cal's Bio

Cal’s vision is to train athletes physically, mentally, and spiritually (not in that order) through the avenue of strength and conditioning.

Cal has accreditation through the CSCCa and SCCC (the gold standard in strength and conditioning), and a Master’s Degree in Human Performance.

Cal played JUCO Baseball at Shelton State Baseball  then went on to play at Alabama Baseball, graduating in 2010.
.
After fulfilling a lifelong dream of playing at Bama, he transitioned into a grad assistant strength coach role at Alabama for 2 years where he worked with every sport on campus.
.
In 2012 he landed his first job with the Atlanta Braves. In 2013 he moved into a Strength and Conditioning Coordinator role where he worked with hundreds of professional athletes!
.
In the fall of 2013 he moved to Birmingham and took a job as the Director of Strength and Conditioning with Champion Sports Medicine where he worked closely with the PTs as well as the doctors at Andrews Sports Medicine.
.
In 2018 he broke out on his own and through, prayers, faith, and a dream, Tinsley Performance was born!
.
Our hope is to develop each and every athlete physically, mentally, and spiritually. If we don’t have an eternal impact on our athletes, then we are missing the mark on why we’re here and why we, as coaches, have been given this platform.
.
We can’t wait to see what’s next with TP, but more importantly, how many athletes we can take to the next level!
.

Jared’s ‘WHY’: “I grew up playing sports my whole life so I have always had a passion for that and helping people. After 2 years at CCC, I took a year off from school to figure out my “WHY”. I always knew I wanted to be in a field where I could help people, as well as being active in the sports field, so I decided to put the two together and pursue a career in the field of strength and conditioning. I did my internship with Cal at Tinsley Performance and knew this was where I was meant to be. I have found my “WHY” and that’s being able to invest in each athlete that walks through the door of Tinsley Performance. To me there is no better feeling than seeing an athlete come in as a shy uncertain kid and develop into a self-confident young man or woman. That’s what fires me up!”
