David Johson

Long Snapping/Kicking Coach
London, United Kingdom

David Johnson Biography

David Johnson is from Cambridge England has done various sports and physical activities such as rugby, and football (soccer). Although watching and enjoying the NFL for over a decade, his playing football career started when he joined his university team. During that time, he had experienced the highs and lows of the sport with his first season going undefeated, having his following season canceled due to covid, and then relegation in his final season.

Following his all-time favorite player Pat McAfee (a former one on one kicking student) he decided to get into the world of kicking. Joining the One On One Family, led to training from multiple sources including Coach Wihan van der Riet (Rocketfoot south africa division) and Coach Bradley Charalambous (One On One United Kingdom).

With a keen eye for the science behind the sport, he started learning as much as he could by watching film and breaking it down (putting the student in student-athlete). Eventually, this led him to have a greater understanding of the mechanics of specialists in a way that could be transferred to others in a positive way.

In the summer of 2022, David was ushered into a new position/role via lower leg injuries, where he began the process of becoming and learning more about long snappers and snapping. From then on he has used his knowledge of film breakdown to decode and dissect others and his own film to improve his abilities and coaching. To add to this, he has been coached and helped by various coaches including NFL-level players and specialist coaches.

David believes there is a massive untapped market for British and European talent looking to get into American colleges to spend their whole college careers out there or just while they do further learning. For a lot of people, they already have the physical and mental attributes, it’s just about honing their skills.

David was approached by his former Coach Bradley Charalambous to join one on one kicking UK as a coach and head of media. David accepted and with his fellow coaches hopes to change British kicking/Punting and long snapping.
