Biography

Matt Dodge grew up in Morehead City, NC where he excelled as a punter and kicker at West Carteret High School. After earning All-State Honors his junior and senior season, Matt went on to play at Appalachian State University where he started as a true-freshman on the Division 1-AA National Championship team.

After his true-freshman season, Matt transferred to East Carolina University. Matt went on to compete for and win the starting punting job as a redshirt sophomore. Each year, Matt’s punting average improved into his senior season where he posted the second highest punting average in the country.

He earned honorable-mention All-American status during his junior season and carried that momentum along with increasing buzz as a potential NFL Prospect into his final collegiate year. He earned All-Conference USA honors, and second team All-American status during his senior season.

After his senior season, Matt was invited to play in the North/South Senior Bowl Game and attend the NFL Combine in Indianapolis. He would go on to be drafted in the seventh round of the NFL Draft by the New York Football Giants.

After the NFL, Matt pursued multiple entrepreneurial avenues and ultimately found a home in the financial industry as an independent financial adviser with USA Financial. He has a passion for working with and coaching young punters and kickers on both what it takes to excel on the field but also using his time at the highest level of the sport to help them develop the mindset needed to succeed.

Matt is chomping at the bits to bring One On One Kicking Camps to Eastern North Carolina and help propel and spotlight up and coming specialists looking to take their game to the next level.
